Brendan Rodgers believes that Christian Benteke will make a huge impact in Anfield

Christian Benteke joined Liverpool on July 22nd and even though it hasn’t even been 2 months since the Belgian forward arrived to Anfield, Brendan Rodgers is feeling incredibly optimistic about what Benteke is going to accomplish as a player of Liverpool who was signed for a transfer fee of £32.5 million.

Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers praised his Belgian summer signing as he said: “For me, I think he’ll prove to be a bargain for the club. I really do. I’ve read and seen things about his game, but in the short period of time he’s been in, I’ve been even more impressed. I’ve seen him up close now for three years, stood at the side of the field and watching this guy  is not just his power and strength, but also his footballing ability’’

Benteke’s career as a Liverpool player has already kicked off in a positive form as the Belgian attacker helped seal 3 points for his new club after scoring the only goal of Livepool’s match against Bournemouth in the 2nd match of the 2015-16 Premier League season.

Standing at 6 foot and 4 inches, Christian Benteke is a tall and strong forward who has the ability to hold up the ball against defenders and wait for his teammates to arrive as well as also have the capability of reaching for aerial passes. These physical attributes are a few of the reasons of why Brendan Rodgers opted to sign Benteke and lure him away from his former club Aston Villa.

Even though Christian Benteke offers a new attacking dimension to Liverpool, Rodgers clarified that the playing style of his squad will not be changed as he will still continue to focus and develop a passing system which can allow his players on having the upper hand in possession, or at least that’s what Brendan Rodgers has tried to do since he took charge of the Premier League club.
