GIGGS WANTS LUKA MODRIC AT OLD TRAFFORD

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has revealed that he would be happy if Coach Jose Mourinho brings Luka Modric to Old Trafford.

The Welsh football legend is definitely a fan of the Real Madrid star and wants the player to join his former club. Giggs made the disclosure at a UEFA press conference last weekend in Zagreb as he toured with the Champions League trophy being an ambassador. The final is poised to happen in Cardiff next year, and Giggs has been actively promoting the tournament.

“Croatia have great players and my current favourite is Modric. I would love him to join Manchester United,” Giggs said when asked about the Croatian player he admires the most.

Modric was a star at Tottenham Hotspur and was strongly linked with a transfer to United but the current 31-year old eventually moved to Spain in 2012. He has been sterling at the Santiago Bernabeu. His impressive performance earned him a new deal this month. His deal with Real Madrid was extended by four years, and the player revealed that it was his wish to end his career at the club.

“I knew I had come to the biggest club in the world, where the demands are huge – I was prepared for that. I didn’t start well but I never doubted, I knew I would succeed sooner or later.

“Today is a special day. I promise I’ll give everything and will work hard to match the club’s demands. I hope to have many more successes here. I hope this isn’t my last contract renewal. My wish and desire is to end my career at Real,” Modric disclosed.

The creative prowess of the Croatian would definitely be a plus at United but Madrid would likely never release a key player, particularly when they are on a transfer ban.
