NO COMPARISONS PLEASE

The Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele has said that people should not be comparing him with the former Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric, who left the club in the summer transfer window in a £ 35 million deal to the Spanish club Real Madrid. Mousa Dembele has been seen as the direct replacement for Luka Modric. The manager Andre Villas-Boas has also been using the 25-year-old Belgian in a similar role. He was signed for £ 15 million from Fulham and he has been an excellent signing for the club so far. He has been on the losing side of a Tottenham only on one occasion in the last 14 matches.

However, he has said that he does not want to be compared with the former Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric, despite the fact that he was a big fan of the Croatian before he arrived at White Hart Lane. He has said that he is a different kind of player to Modric and fans should not be seeing him as a replacement for the Croat. Dembele has been one of the impressive players for the club so far this campaign. He has made 10 appearances so far this campaign and has scored one goal, but has made numerous assists.

“Before I came to Tottenham I was a big fan of Modric. For me he was one of the best in England, but I am a totally different player. He had different qualities and I don’t feel I have to do exactly what he did. I play my own game. I try my best to be as important as he was and that would be a great achievement. But I’m not him,” said the 25-year-old man who was once again excellent in the 1-0 win over Swansea during the weekend. This win helped Tottenham to move into the fourth position.
