NO POSITIVE NEWS ON MODRIC CONTRACT

 

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric could leave the club when his contract with the former European champions ends next summer. He has less than a year on his contract and the club is yet to offer the veteran midfielder an extension. Luka Modric is not the only Real Madrid player in this situation. Defenders Sergio Ramos and Nacho Fernandes also have less than a year on their respective contracts.


Sergio Ramos, Nacho Fernandes and Luka Modric can start negotiations with foreign clubs as from next year. Spanish international Lucas Vazquez is also in the same situation as the aforementioned trio as his contract is set to expire at Real Madrid next summer. The four players are in danger of leaving Real Madrid next summer.

Club skipper Sergio Ramos is set to have held talks with Real Madrid over a new contract but an agreement is far from being reached. On the four players, Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane would have offered them new contracts swiftly if it was up to him.

Croatian national team skipper Luka Modrichas already pointed out that he would like to retire from football at Real Madrid.The 35-year-old has a lot of offers from clubs abroad as they wait to pounce if the Los Merengues don’toffer him a contract extension. Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan have been on the trail of the 2018 Ballon d’Or Award recipient since last year and they are keen on signing him.

Luka Modric could join the Croatian contingent at Inter Milan. The likes of Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic are Croatian national teammates at the San Siro. Apart from Inter Milan, AC Milan are also showing interest in the experienced midfielder. On a possible return to former clubTottenham Hotspur, Luka Modric recently said that he’s too old to return to the North London club. Welsh international Gareth Bale was a teammate of Modric at Spurs and Real Madrid. He recently returned to Spurs on loan for this season.
